PCC rebrands as Johnson remains chief for second year

The Printers' Charitable Corporation (PCC) has rebranded as The Printing Charity as it was confirmed that BPIF chief executive Michael Johnson will remain as the charity's president for another year.

The new logo and name was unveiled last week at the charity's 182nd annual lunch at Stationers' Hall, where Trinity Mirror chief executive Sly Bailey was welcomed as a guest speaker.

More than 200 people from the printing, publishing and graphic arts trades filled the Grand Hall – the first time the event had sold out for 12 years.

In her speech, Bailey argued that print is a complementary media to new technologies and said that today's opportunity was to create a multi-media publishing platform across online, print and mobile technology.

Johnson said it was "a great honour" to be invited to be president for a second year. "I'll continue to build on the excellent work being done by everyone at the PCC to achieve its aim of increasing the number of people it helps year-on-year."
