The company, which is the contract printing and mailing division of newspaper printer and publisher Mortons of Horncastle, opted for the digital package to handle work that was previously outsourced.
The investment in the digital colour press comes as the business plans to roll out a new web-to-print storefront service, targeting its 300-strong publishing client base.
Mortons, which employs 94 staff on the print and mailing side, will offer a full range of products such as magazines, booklets, pictures, calendars and stationery through an online portal.
Ian Fisher, managing director of Mortons Print, said: "We are quite new to digital technology because our core business is in newspapers, but we wanted to research a device that would allow us to produce previously outsourced work in-house."
In addition to the Xerox 7002, Mortons has taken delivery of five pieces of finishing equipment that include a Duplo DB280 compact perfect binder, a DBM120 hand-fed booklet maker, DC645 slitter, cutter, creaser, and Ideal 5221 guillotine and a Renz Wiro binder.
Fisher said: "When we decided to increase our service offering to include digital, we wanted to see what Fujifilm could offer.
"We have seen immediate interest in our new services and we haven’t had to go knocking on people’s doors for the business - the work has come to us."
