Lick Digital and Top Copy set for liquidation

Lick Digital and Top Copy are both headed for liquidation after meetings of creditors were announced for the two subsidiaries of Leeds-based Lick Group, which is understood to be unaffected by the move.

Meetings of creditors have been set for Top Copy Image Centres and Lick Digital, to be held at 10:30am and 11:30am respectively on 29 March at the offices of Sheffield-based firm The P&A Partnership.

Insolvency practitioners Gareth Rusling and John Russell of The P&A Partnership are expected to be appointed.

Andrew Brown, operations director at Lick Group, said: "Lick Digital and Top Copy are being liquidated. It is business as usual for Lick Group.

"Obviously none of us are happy about it. Difficult economic conditions have forced us into this."

Top Copy announced that it was set to enter into insolvency proceedings earlier this month, with Unite claiming that 11 staff had been made redundant.

On 7 April 2010, direct mail company Lick UK, which traded as Lick Group, went into administration.

Two days later corporate details on the company's website changed from Lick (UK) Ltd to Lick Group Ltd.

Former Lick UK director Linden Kitson has been a director at Lick Group since it was incorporated on 28 August 2008. He and The P&A Partnership declined to comment at the time of writing.
