CPI UK strengthens management of UK trade book division

CPI UK has strengthened the management of its trade book printing division after making several new appointments.

Mark Grice has taken on the role of general manager at CPI White Quill, the Croydon-based operation that produces colour covers and jackets for all book formats. Grice takes the role after moving from CPI's paperback business Bookmarque.

Elsewhere in the group, Sandy Wieliczko has been appointed as general manager for both CPI Bookmarque and CPI Cox & Wyman.

In the new position, Wieliczko will oversee the production of A- and B-format paperback books from short runs up to runs of more than a million copies.

Supporting Wieliczko will be Jon Gissing who has been promoted to the role of factory manager at CPI Bookmarque.

Ian Smith, chief operating officer of the company’s trade book division, which comprises CPI Bookmarque, CPI Cox & Wyman, CPI Mackays, CPI White Quill and CPI William Clowes, said the new appointments would promote a "great workforce".

He said: "Mark’s close attention to detail and leadership will be put to good use in our central CPI component manufacturer. He joins an already motivated management team and skilled workforce."

"Sandy and the Cox & Wyman team have also worked very hard and are well respected by our customers and other CPI companies. Over the years, Sandy has built up a solid business with a great workforce."

The group also confirmed that Martin Collyer, previously general manager at Anthony Rowe Eastbourne, has been promoted to chief operating officer of the commercial division of CPI, with Martin Clegg expanding his role to include managing the Eastbourne (as well as Chippenham) site of CPI Antony Rowe.
