Col-Tec to launch entry-level automatic collator and binder

Collating equipment specialist Col-Tec is due to hold an open house this week to showcase its new entry-level automatic collator and perfect binder.

The New Milton, Hampshire-based company has teamed up with Swiss perfect binder manufacturer Bufalo to host the event at Col-Tec's site on 19-20 January.

According to Col-Tec managing director Paul Bailey, there is currently little option available for printers and finishers looking for an automatic perfect binder under 4,000sph.

He said: "The quickest Bufalo runs at 1,500sph. Rather than having a standalone collator and a standalone perfect binder, we have an automatic option. It is an affordable combination."

The system, which was developed by Col-Tec and Perfect Bindery Solutions, incorporates an automatic book block feeding into a Bufalo 500 clamp.
