Stag Print celebrates 40th birthday

Stag Print is celebrating 40 years in business this month and has attributed its lasting success to constantly evolving its service offering.

Established at a small site in Hanworth, West London in April 1979 by Rajendra Patel, the family-owned company first relocated to Twickenham and then to its current base in Guildford in 2008.

Patel’s son Sushil Patel joined the business as managing director in 2013 and has moved the business forward by implementing new ideas and equipment, most recently introducing a five-colour Sakurai LED-UV press in 2017 to increase quality and reduce turnaround times.

Sushil Patel said: “We are all immensely proud of what the business has achieved over the past 40 years; it is a testament to Stag Print’s resilience and that of our customers as the economy booms and busts, and challenges such as Brexit bring uncertainty.

“Customer care and quality is the backbone of the business, which is why I am personally involved in the quality control process and follow up with customers to make sure they are happy too.

“And we are always looking for different markets and types of print and just constantly evolving as a business. We started off by just doing single-colour stationery but over time we went into colour print and then started doing packaging, which is now a big part of our business.”

The seven-staff company, which also operates Konica Minolta digital equipment and a wide range of finishing kit, produces boxes and sleeves for consumer products and marketing print such as brochures and leaflets for educational establishments and medium-sized businesses. It also serves trade customers.

The environmentally-focused business obtains 100% of its paper and board from responsible sources, recycles all waste paper and litho plates and uses energy-efficient LED lights and equipment at its premises.

Sushil Patel said the company’s next move will be to take on new staff, across all areas of the business.
