Papergraphics adds HP Latex 300s to its portfolio

Papergraphics has partnered with HP to sell its Latex 300 series printers in the UK.

The Surrey-based wide-format specialist has become the latest UK reseller to be appointed a HP Gold Graphics Specialist, helped by the HP expertise of former members of the Paperlinx UK digital solutions team, who joined Papergraphics following the administration of most parts of Paperlinx UK. Previously it sold HP ink but no other products.

Papergraphics managing director Nathan Atkins said: “We see Latex as an important strategic addition to our evolving range of print. The Latex model was the specific one we were after. It's unique out there in the market; it's got a position that nobody really matches. It's an exciting technology for us.

"The Latex technology perfectly complements many of our unique medias such as our wall covering range, whilst also sharing many of the key features found in the rest of our range such as versatility, green credentials, and price point. We've been promoting our wall coverings and we can devleop more substrates for the Latex machines."

The deal is the latest move in Papergraphics’ planned expansion from solely supplying media to becoming a 'one-stop shop' for hardware and media alike.

In April it became a Jetrix reseller at the same time as taking on the former Paperlinx staff.

The following month, it added Canon’s aqueous wide-format printers to its product list. It now sells, installs and offers training and support for the manufacturer, working with Canon’s largest distribution partner Velmex Distribution.

Atkins said at the time that he wanted to work with the best OEMs in the market.

Speaking about this latest appointment, HP channel business manager Jane Rixon said: “We’re very much looking forward to getting this partnership underway with Papergraphics. Having just extended our range, we want to ensure that we’re tapping into the core market effectively, and with partners who share our enthusiasm for applications.

“With the experience of working with the Paperlinx team previously and Papergraphics’ strong reputation in the UK, we’re confident that this is the right move to expand our presence in the UK.”

Atkins added that he was confident that more products would be added “in the near future”.

The Papergraphics group has 100 staff and a turnover of £20m.
