The assets of Manchester Printers have been acquired by an East Midlands-based group.

The Blackfish Group will also use the Manchester Printers name.

Blackfish Group CEO David Cordy sent an email to customers today (31 May) that stated: “We are delighted to inform you that The Blackfish Group, a highly regarded and customer-centric organisation, has recently acquired the assets of Manchester Printers. This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for The Blackfish Group, and we wanted to take a moment to address any concerns or questions you may have.

“We understand that change can sometimes be unsettling, especially when it involves a trusted service provider like Manchester Printers. However, we want to assure you that The Blackfish Group shares the same unwavering commitment to exceptional quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

“We have a proven track record of fostering strong relationships with clients and are dedicated to upholding the high standards that Manchester Printers have set.”

Cordy said the business was working to ensure a “seamless transition”.

The Blackfish Group is described as “a ball of creative energy offering outstanding marketing, design and print solutions. Come to us for arresting creative campaigns, sound marketing strategy, awesome print and dynamic digital, all delivered on time and with a massive smile.”

The group’s website links to Ashfield Printing, based in Ilkeston, which Printweek understands was acquired by Blackfish a couple of years ago.

Manchester Printers went into creditors’ voluntary liquidation in April, as part of a wider meltdown at the associated group of companies.

Liquidators at KBL Advisory have not commented on their progress thus far.
