Konica and Morgana to show new products at Manchester event

Konica Minolta and Morgana will both show new products at the first 2014 date of the ‘Enable Your Business’ roadshow at Manchester’s Old Trafford Cricket Ground on July 22 and 23.

The event will mark the ‘roadshow’ debut of Konica Minolta's bizhub C1100 digital press and Morgana’s DigiBook 200 PUR perfect binder.

The bizhub C1100, which prints high-quality colour at speeds of up to 100ppm, was first previewed at Drupa 2012 and was shown again at Ipex in March. Its official sales launch date is Monday (14 July).

The C1100's sister machine, the bizhub C1085, which prints at up to 85ppm, will be launched at the same time.

The C1100 has a stock weight range of 55-350gsm in simplex and duplex, a resolution of 1,200 dpi in 8-bit full colour and Simitri HD E polymerised toner. Other features include SEAD IV imaging, stability monitoring and density control.

The DigiBook 200 PUR perfect binder, which Morgana launched at Ipex in March, handles spine lengths from 110mm to 320mm and handles a maximum book thickness of 50mm. It also features retractable spine milling and side gluing for the cover hinge.

“We will be demonstrating a full range of print finishing systems designed specifically for digitally printed documents to give any print producer’s customers the best possible results,” said Morgana marketing project manager Wendy Baker.

“We held a similar, very successful event with Konica Minolta at the Salford Reds stadium last year. Taking the show to our customers seems to work for us.”

Rosefox Papers, Vpress and Compass Finances will also be exhibiting at the Manchester event and there will be workshops and practical advice from industry speakers Neil Falconer, Matthew Parker and Charlotte Graham Cumming.

An evening workshop on July 22 will offer printers advice on how to engage with the creative community to drive new business.

The event with Morgana is one of a number of events that Konica Minolta is holding this year.

“It's part of a series where we may partner with other finishing companies across the country,” said Konica Minolta market development manager PPD Mark Hinder.

“One of the things that we're keen to do is create new opportunities and we do that through these partnerships.”

Konica Minolta will also show the bizhub C1100 at events in Bristol on 11 September, London on 19 September, Nottingham on 25 September and Livingston on 1 October.
