Denmaur Paper Media has launched a new FSC certified and World Land Trust Carbon Balanced high white uncoated paper range.

Following its commercial release last Monday (15 November), Ultra Fine Offset is available from Denmaur as both a stock and indent product. The company said the exclusive product features comparatively high levels of whiteness and opacity and “fulfils all of the compliance and sustainability requirements that customers now demand”.

Denmaur managing director Nick Gee said: “Ultra Fine Offset represents another innovative addition to our stock portfolio.

“We have spent several months working with the manufacturing mill to develop this brand, fine tuning test sheets from light weights to board weights in order to achieve the desired result, which is a consistently bright, bulky and opaque paper grade across a complete weight spectrum and at a cost that competes very well in the uncoated sector.”

Denmaur marketing and sustainability director Danny Doogan added it was “immensely pleasing to add yet another winner to our Carbon Balanced at Source range of stock papers”.

The manufacturing mill was undisclosed but Doogan described it as a “well known European group producer with strong credentials”.

“In taking on the exclusivity of this product, the mill agreed to support the offsetting of the scope 1 and 2 emissions associated with the manufacture of Ultra Fine Offset,” said Doogan.

Carbon Balancing is the offsetting scheme operated by World Land Trust, the conservation charity whose work involves measurable carbon absorption in vulnerable areas through forestry regeneration, protection, and conservation.

“The value of the mill’s unavoidable carbon emissions (when producing one tonne of Ultra Fine Offset) is paid to the World Land Trust to fund the equivalent in atmospheric carbon absorption,” said Doogan.

“The activities of the World Land Trust have always been important, but even more so now with the zero deforestation 2030 target declared at COP26.”

The World Land Trust’s Carbon Balanced Paper logo can be used on artwork when printing on Ultra Fine Offset, as can the FSC Mix label.

The new range is available in 70 to 350gsm weights and sheets from SRA3 through to B1, with pricing “expected to be very competitive”. Product cards, swatches, samples, and dummies are available direct from Denmaur.
