Co-op print show heads to the midlands

The latest in a series of regional print shows with a co-operative format being delivered across the UK will take place in Corby on 18 and 19 November.

Newtech Corby, which describes itself as a print and cut, finishing, screen, transfers and garment decoration show, will be held at Ultima Displays’ showroom. It follows similar events held throughout 2014 in London, Belfast, Edinburgh and Wetherby.

The free-to-attend events are designed as collaborative shows featuring exhibitors that are associated companies and technologies rather than competitors.

200 companies have registered for the event so far with event organisers hoping to reach 300. The 12 exhibitors that will feature at the Corby show include Roland DG, The Magic Touch, Clarity Software, Marketing Alchemy, Ultima Displays and DecoNetwork.

“This very different type of printing event is gathering momentum with enthusiastic reactions from both exhibitors and visitors,” said Martin Morrissey, managing director of the event’s organiser Marketing Alchemy Newtech.

“Our visitors are able to discuss things in detail with exhibitors and be educated about a product and their options. It’s a tremendous sales outlet because people are relaxed and can sit down and learn all about a product in detail. One of our shows had £1m worth of sales.”

Roland DG is running a rolling schedule of free one-to-one Roland DG Academy training sessions during the show. The sessions will look at how businesses can use VersaWorks RIP software and the VersaUV LEF-20 flatbed printer to increase their revenue streams.

Further Newtech events are planned around the UK for next year, including Southampton in February, Glasgow in March, Liverpool in May and Bristol in July with Newcastle, Wetherby and London dates to be confirmed.
