APS second in Track 200 list

Stockport-based printer APS Group has been ranked second in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200, after it recorded a 203% rise in international sales revenue between 2013 and 2015.

International sales revenue at the end of 2015 was £18.5m, with total sales revenues of £82.8m.

The Track 200 ranks British-based businesses for international sales growth.

APS managing director Nick Snelson said: “It is a special achievement to be included in the list for the first time, and even more so to enter straight in at number two. Winning awards like this clearly demonstrates that we are moving in the right direction.

“Our business has delivered significant growth in revenue and profit over recent years on the back of significant investments. But there’s much more to it than just investing in new technologies to diversify our offering. We have worked hard to instill simple, honest values and create an open, ambitious and flexible culture.”

Since 2013, APS has grown in staff by approximately 18%, employing over 700 employees across 25 global sites in 120 countries.

It is also the highest-ranked northern company to make the list, and joins other companies based in the North West such as fashion retailer Missguided and online retailer The Hut Group.

Snelson added: “After a tough few years, the region is enjoying a bit of a renaissance. When the recession hit, a lot of businesses suffered and have taken time to adjust and recover from it.

“But where there’s adversity, there’s also opportunity. The North West is full of vibrant businesses and ambitious, talented and energetic entrepreneurs, who are fiercely proud to be based here, and have been able to identify and capitalise on new opportunities abroad.”

Snelson said the strong growth is set to continue beyond 2016.

PrintWeek’s parent company Mark Allen Group came 33rd on the list.
