Fast-growing PFI Group has sealed its second deal in two months with the acquisition of Speedscreen.

PFI has racked up a string of buys over the past two years, and most recently bought Grafenia’s manufacturing operations in May.

Maidstone-based Speedscreen went into creditors voluntary liquidation last month, with PFI acquiring the business out of administration.

Seven jobs were preserved as a result, and PFI said managing director Tim Hill would continue to lead the business.

PFI described Speedscreen as “a forward thinking, dynamic print solutions company”.

“The company work largely with the signage trade, providing solutions for many high-profile projects under a confidential service,” PFI stated.

Speedscreen runs a raft of digital and screen printing kit at its 1,672sqm site, including three Durst Rho printers, an Epson 11880, Zund and Kongsberg cutting tables, along with Kippax and Sias screen printing presses.

The deal expands PFI’s presence in the south of England. Many of its operations are located in the north and in Scotland.

Speedscreen was originally established in 1986 as a high-quality screen printing specialist.
