AMS Mailing Systems has hailed the latest version of Kirk-Rudy's Memjet-powered Firejet 4C all-in-one colour inkjet printing system, which received its show debut last week, as a “game-changer”.

As well as featuring Kirk-Rudy's tried and tested heavy-duty transport system, the latest version of the manufacturer’s flagship four-colour, single-pass envelope printer boasts Memjet DuraFlex single-pass inkjet technology.

The 1,600dpi system, which runs water-based pigment inks, offers linear print speeds of more than 45m/min and print widths of up to 323mm. It comes with a Harlequin-based Navigator DFE RIP as standard.

"This groundbreaking inkjet printer presents a game-changing option in the market, providing a profitable alternative to compact desktop printers reliant on toner-based colour technology,” said Mansur Ali, managing director of Kirk-Rudy’s exclusive UK agent, AMS Mailing Systems.

"The FireJet 4C not only replaces traditional offset printing for one- or two-colour jobs but also redefines industry operations."

It can be configured with a host of feeding systems, opening up product personalisation beyond its core mailing applications, which included simultaneous front and back flap printing and addressing. Specialist applications can include collection envelopes, napkins, paper bags and even cup sleeves.

“The introduction of the Firejet 4C at AMS Mailing Systems is a catalyst for offset printing replacement," said Ali.
