PaperShapers has helped serial inventor Sheridan 'Shed' Simove bring his latest idea – the TiePad – to life.

Simove is an entrepreneur and product creator with a raft of other products to his name, including a novelty book – What Every Man Thinks About Apart from Sex – which contains entirely blank pages.

“I recently started a channel on TikTok and a comment on there about ‘Pad Thai’ inspired me to come up with a new idea of a tie shaped notepad,” he explained.

Simove praised PaperShapers owner Colin Metson for his can-do attitude.

“Colin was the only company willing to make the tie shaped notepads and he actually cut each one by hand, as I didn’t have the budget for making a cutting guide at the prototype stage.

“My TikTok is blowing up, and if I get enough interest in it and the demand is there, it can become an actual product.

“I love to explore different ideas with Colin, for example a bow tie pad could work too. Colin is a shining light, it makes such a refreshing change.”

Metson commented: “Shed is such an infectious character. It was enjoyable working with him and the job turned out really nicely.”

North London based PaperShapers specialises in laser cutting, die-cutting and ram punching and has been involved with many innovative projects since the family-owned print finishing business bought its first ram punching device in 1991, and recognised the creative potential in shape cutting.
