Craftprint founder Jack Tait has died aged 76.

Tait set up Bolton-based Craftprint in 1980. His sons Andrew and Martin joined the business in the early 1990s, and are now co-directors of the company.

“He printed in the morning and went cold calling the afternoon,” recalled Andrew Tait.

“He was a very well-respected businessman in the Bolton area, supporting the local Chamber of Commerce for many years.”

Craftprint provides a wide range of printing and marketing services to local businesses and individuals, as well as serving large organisations including the NHS, universities, colleges and football clubs.

Tait was also regional chairman of the BPIF in the early 2000s. He retired in 2005.

“Such a positive person in life. He will be greatly missed,” Andrew Tait added.

Outside of work Tait was a keen golfer and gardener. He was also a fan of Bolton Wanderers FC, and loved spending time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren.

He died on 9 August following a short illness.

The funeral will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 29 August, at Overdale Crematorium in Bolton.
