Xeikon has launched a programme that curates insights from customers and its own experts to help users maximise productivity and drive down costs.

The digital press manufacturer’s “Do More with Less” programme helps print business owners identify ways its technology can help reduce waste and ink/toner and electricity usage while simultaneously maximising production time and quality.

Xeikon’s global customer success manager Paul Salmon said: “In the special times we live in, printers face increased costs and shortage of materials.

“We have gathered knowledge and shared it with our customers, but we also leverage it to further optimise our technology. Our “Do More with Less” program is the result of putting that knowledge into practice.”

Some of the hacks highlighted include:

  • VariLane, a workflow option of the X-800 digital front-end. It enables the production of labels on different lanes alongside an existing job, optimising substrate usage
  • Vectorizor, a software add-on to the X-800 digital front-end that generates the shape of “frames” to be transferred to the die-cutter and records them in a barcode printed alongside the job
  • Xeikon Color Services can help users reduce toner and ink consumption
  • Job Optimizer, an X-800 feature, reduces production time and substrate waste up to 30% for multi-variant jobs
  • Xeikon Business Services, which enables users to get real-time data on a wide range of metrics to maximise performance

The Xeikon “Do More with Less” program was shared with customers during a dedicated Xeikon Café TV session in April – you can watch the session here.
