Apogee Corporation has launched a ‘desktop to doorstep’ hybrid mail platform that the managed workplace services provider said will enable businesses to transform their mailing processes.

Initially only available in the UK, AutoMail reduces – and in some instances eliminates – the need for printers, toners, envelopes, and franking machines.

Developed for business mail including statements, invoices, or service reminders, AutoMail works with standard applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, meaning Apogee customers create their mailings as normal.

Apogee, which is an independent subsidiary of HP, then produces the documents in their ISO 27001 secure mailing facilities. The items are then mailed through the usual postal service, with the added benefit that customers can benefit from Apogee’s bulk postal discount rates - even if only sending a low volume of mail.

For enhanced control, AutoMail also provides businesses with the ability to set user specific permissions to ensure control over who prints and mails letters, and whether they print them in colour or mono (or both) and mail using 1st or 2nd class.

Rachel Banks, head of product management at Apogee, said: “The new AutoMail solution is a game changer for businesses.

“It provides a labour-saving solution and removes the need for office supplies such as envelopes, and franking machines, with the added benefit of postal discounts. This not only dramatically reduces time spent on mailings, but more importantly, cuts the total mailing cost for AutoMail customers”.
