Balcony Shirts is a printwear shop in West London. Partner Scott Raison explains the back story: “From humble beginnings printing t-shirts in our bedrooms and selling them on eBay, we soon graduated to a Portacabin, which was situated in a truck garage car park. We then moved to a unit on Uxbridge industrial estate, before ending up in our home of the last 10 years, our shop in Uxbridge.”

PPS was set up in 1989 (the year sales director Katie Palmer was born) by her parents Noel and Lesley in the garage of the family home. PPS began by offering photography and marketing services and as the business developed, brought in graphic designers, invested in printing equipment and decided to bring everything in-house to offer the full service.

Wensleydale Press began life in the mid-19th century. It was acquired by husband and wife team Ken and Liz Lawson in 1979. Although Ken passed away a decade ago, the business continues to be run by Liz alongside Ken’s son Nigel.
