Zünd UK and Inca secure partnership

The UK arm of Swiss cutting table manufacturer Zünd has secured what appears to be a technology partnership with UK wide-format press manufacturer Inca Digital to offer “complete workflow solutions”.
While both firms are keeping the details of the formal partnership under wraps for now, it does include APIs to enable stronger links between the respective Inca and Zünd hardware and software technology portfolios.
While it’s unclear if the partnership will include a joint strategic sales approach or go-to-market strategy, a spokesperson stressed that it didn’t impact Inca’s partnership with Fujifilm, with the latter remaining the main sales channel for Onset X and XHS printers.
The two firms described the deal as a “solutions partnership for existing and new customers” with more information set to be revealed in the future via teaser videos and webinars, culminating in a “demonstrable solution” set to be announced in October.
In a statement, the companies said the new partnership would deliver “customised solutions” that would enable customers “to fully benefit from a complete workflow solution from pre-press automation, cloud-based setup, print job completion and direct-to-cut finishing”.
Dean Ashworth, Zünd UK sales & marketing manager, said: “This innovative partnership is very important to the industry and we are pleased that our collaboration will allow our customers to experience a unique, high-end print-and-cut workflow.”
While his opposite number at Inca, head of products & solutions Matt Brooks, simply added: “We are excited to partner with Zünd to offer innovative solutions tailored to our customer needs.”
Last April, Cambridge headquartered Inca added made Stephen Tunnicliffe-Wilson chief executive and CTO.
