Warren supports core business with new board product additions

Independent cartonboard and graphical board stockist Warren has highlighted its commitment to its core board business by adding a number of new products to its range.

The firm's new board additions include Accurate Freeze from Dutch firm Mayr-Melnhof Eerbeek, a clean-back, hard-sized folding boxboard aimed at the food, confectionery and pharmaceuticals markets.

Products from Asia Pulp & Paper (APP), including Cygnus (GC1) and Proxima Plus (GC2), have also been added while the company has extended its stock holding of Stora Enso's cartonboard brand Tambrite, with larger format sheets now part of its range.

“Our approach has always been to focus on trusted and long-established local suppliers where quality and service levels are well proven. However, we also recognise there are some excellent quality products available from mills further afield and these too have always played a role within our range,” said Warren managing director Kieran Ferguson.

“The APP products we’ve added are a recognition of the effort this group has made in its approach to the environment. It was quite right that NGOs and other organisations highlighted concerns in the past but, in the same vein, it is also quite right to help support those companies that have recognised their past issues and are taking great strides to improve their environmental performance.”

The move follows a recent paper and conversion related seven-figure investment made by the Midlands-based company, and its accompanying establishment of a paper sales division, after it moved into paper distribution for the first time earlier this year.

“Given the publicity about the investments in our new conversion and paper divisions, it would be easy to think Warren had lost a bit of focus on core business. But this couldn't be further from the truth as the investments have continued apace here too,” said Ferguson.

ISO 14001-certified company Warren has 39 staff and sales in excess of 20,000 tonnes per annum with a turnover of £20m.

It has recently opened a 3,092sqm converting facility in West Bromwich and also has five units in Glenfield, Leicestershire covering a total area of 10,684sqm. Its customers include paper merchants, commercial and general printers and carton convertors throughout the UK and Europe.
