Texo Trade Services introduces printable promotional carpet

Print media and textile supplier Texo Trade Services has launched a new printable carpet with a 100% polyester non-woven front and anti-slip backing.

The promotional product, Carpet 820, is said to be more cost-friendly than normal carpet and is suitable for short-term applications including exhibition carpets, catwalks and other promotional events, with a maximum recommended usage time of around two weeks.

The 820gsm product, which is available with immediate effect, can be printed onto using sublimation transfer.

The Netherlands-based business said another unique selling point of the product is its safety aspects. The anti-slip backing ensures that the carpet lies perfectly flat and remains in place and doesn’t need to be taped to the floor.

The product also meets the fire retardancy standard Cfl-S1 in accordance with EN 13501-1.

TTS sales manager Jacco van ‘t Riet said: “It’s always been difficult to digitally print on carpet, even for promotional use. In the past we’ve seen people doing it with UV but that’s not really the best type of ink to print on a carpet.

“Exhibition carpets that have been printed onto have traditionally been polyamide, because it’s a bit stronger, but it’s very expensive to print onto polyamide and everybody can print onto polyester with dye-sublimation.”

Texo Trade Services said it can deliver Carpet 820 from stock in rolls of 1.3x25m at a price of €5.50 (£4.70) per square metre. The material can be cut down to any size or shape so could also be used as a promotional mat, or on a bar or counter.

The business has also recently launched a 5m-wide protective paper for sublimation calendars of the same width and 5m-wide canvases for large light boxes.
