TCS re-establishes CP Bourg dealership

Terry Cooper Services (TCS) has agreed full UK-wide dealership rights with CP Bourg, five years after its previous agency with the Belgian post-press manufacturer came to an end.

TCS has continued to provide spares and services for CP Bourg kit over the last five years, during which time the manufacturer's machinery has been sold in the UK by Engelmann & Buckham, which is continuing to sell the kit during the handover period.

Under the new agreement, which was finalised two weeks ago, TCS will once again sell, install and support the manufacturer’s complete portfolio of finishing kit for digital print throughout the UK.

“We were still continuing to service the CP Bourg machines that we had sold previously and providing spare parts. We kept all of our big service contracts going after 2014,” said TCS director Dean Stayne.

“CP Bourg saw this and knew we were still active with the product in the marketplace. In the new year we spoke to them and said that we were still passionate about their product. They knew what a fantastic service department and backup service we had and now we’ve got back together.”

He added: “Going forward we’re going to be selling their online and nearline digital systems to the industry.

“They’ve also made all of the systems modular – if you’re not an online digital printer you can start off with a Bourg binder, but we can make that modular if you later want to go online with it.”

CP Bourg’s offering ranges from inline perfect binding systems including the BB3202 PUR-C and Bourg Sheet Preparation (BSP) scalable sheet preparation module for intervention-free bookletmaking and binding, through to the BB3102 perfect binding system, which is suitable for short-run and on-demand production.

CP Bourg commercial director Sacha-Vittorio Paolucci said: “We are looking forward to TCS once again supporting the sale of our solutions throughout the UK. The process will be seamless as the team are already working with the majority of our existing customers.

“They are also highly knowledgeable in the systems and how they support hardworking production print environments to maximise efficiencies. This will enable new customers to feel fully supported from day one.”

Pricing for the kit is said to be “mid-to-high” in comparison to competitors’ offerings, which Stayne attributed to its “fantastic build quality and reliability”.

TCS distributes new and used systems including guillotines, binders, collators, bookletmakers, foil-blocking and folders from manufacturers including Grafcut, CCM Premier, Challenge and Bagel.

Earlier this year it became the exclusive UK distributor for Italian manufacturer Mamo’s range of finishing equipment.
