Neschen launches chalkboard PVC

Neschen has expanded its range of easy dot products with chalkboard black, a decorative print media where information can be applied with dry or liquid chalk.

Product manager for the specialist substrate maker Rita Gerhard said the product was coated with a solvent-free and water-based adhesive. She likened it to a printable chalkboard.

“The black film is easily printed and cut, you can write on it with dry and liquid chalk and it is easy to clean with a wet sponge or a cloth,” Gerhard explained.

The black 180 µm-thick structured PVC film is suitable for seminar rooms, conference rooms, schools and kindergartens as well as restaurants and hotels where information is updated frequently.

Head of corporate marketing Lars Woltermann said old or worn chalkboards and stand-up displays could be reconditioned by applying easy dot chalkboard black on the surface.

The new film was launched in the UK last week and is available in roll lengths of 10m and 30m at a width of 137.2cm. Art Systems sells the product in the UK with a list price of £6.30/m/2.

Woltermann said: “There is a huge demand from the market for more products in the easy dot range. There is no relevant competition in the market for our dot technology.

“Our dot adhesive allows an easy application even for inexperienced users for mid-size applications.

“For professional users the job can be done with less time and effort. That's a clear benefit to our customers - printers and signmakers – that can pass to the shop and brand owners.”

The new launch follows that in March of a PVC-free wallpaper range called Green Wall with the wash and brush resistance of vinyl wallpapers.

Earlier this month the specialist substrate manufacturer was taken over by German investment group Blue Cap.
