Massivit brings 1800 Pro 3D printer to Fespa for Euro launch

Massivit has launched the new Pro version of its 1800 3D printer to the European market at Fespa 2019.

First premiered in China at the Shanghai International Ad & Sign Technology & Equipment Exhibition (Appexpo 2019) in March, the Massivit 3D 1800 Pro builds on the technology of the original 1800 with three new features to enhance use.

A variable resolution option is the headline addition to the Pro, while “mega-quality” and remote operation features have also been added to the device, which is priced at €375,000 (around £325,000). Users of the original 1800 have the option to upgrade for €25,000.

“With our variable resolution option, users can create massive pieces part-by-part where some elements need greater detailing than others,” said Massivit marketing director Isabelle Marelley. “Companies are fighting for better margins and this means you can save on resources and time in the parts of a piece where high resolution is needed less.

“Our key market is PSPs who are looking to innovate, because brands are always looking for something new.

“Users of the 1800 have told us that our 3D printers not only bring new capabilities, but also new leads. Even clients that are not looking for 3D print yet like the idea that their PSP has the capabilities – end users like to work with printers that innovate and invest.”

The 1800 Pro’s “mega quality” option allows for faster high-resolution printing to optimise gel consumption and printing time. When coupled with variable resolution, it is designed to increase the cost-effectiveness of production.

Remote operation is possible through a tablet that is provided with the new machine or the retrofitted upgrade and can interact with the machine when connected to wi-fi.

Aside from the new features, the 1800 Pro is built on the same foundations as the 1800, with a print capacity of 1.8m high, 1.5m wide and 1.2m deep.

Massivit can be found at Messe Munich on stand B5-F49 until Friday, 17 May.
