New features include a compact four/six-corner box module and an inline blank ejector module while other elements including the feeder and pre-fold section are identical to the Diana X series.

The machines in the Diana Smart series have a maximum speed of 450m/min.

Special options are available to work on specialty cartons, such as double-wall cartons, multi-compartment cartons, miniature cartons, mailing envelopes and record sleeves, in addition to the standard carton designs.

The feeder alignment station enables precise feeding of the blank for accurate processing while the long compression and delivery section ensures optimum glue adhesion.

The Diana Ejector Module removes defective cartons from the machine one at a time in the direction of blank travel. This allows for higher speeds and enables specialised and very small cartons to be removed from the manufacturing process reliably.

Earlier this year, Heidelberg UK and Masterwork Graphic Equipment agreed a partnership that enables Heidelberg to sell a wide portfolio of the Chinese manufacturer’s post-press products, including the Diana Smart and Diana X systems, to UK customers.

The new features will be available in all territories and the enhanced models will start shipping globally in the new year. Pricing details are not yet known.
