Fujifilm has launched a new version of its web-to-print platform, XMF PrintCentre V5

The latest version of this cloud-based system features new automatic functions geared towards variable data printing.

These include an auto fit function which intelligently adjusts variable data text and saves users redesigning templates, and an auto format function which reformats text where information has been omitted so that all pieces still look consistent with each other.

V5 also now features extra back office functionality. This includes a feature to handle tax calculations using multiple rates, and an extra security layer to hide an entire B2B website behind a login screen rather than just behind a username and password, if desired.

Changes have also been made to allow pricing information to be removed. This is particularly useful, explains Fuji, in scenarios where costs are managed centrally, but print is ordered by nominated users elsewhere, such as at single retail stores.

Other additions to the XMF PrintCentre back office system include the ability to copy and modify existing products in a web store to speed up the creation of new products, and the ability to provide more choice as to how the final PDF files are delivered to various printers, to support a wider range of workflow systems.

John Davies, workflow business strategy manager for Fujifilm Europe, said: “Web-to-print is a self-service approach to buying print, and this process has to be reliable and straightforward. The new capabilities added to XMF PrintCentre V5 provide print buyers with more automation and control over the way print is purchased.”

He added: “The new V5 capabilities provide web store administrators with more tools to allow them to meet the demanding needs of their clients, and also improve the experience of print buyers using the system for VDP applications.”

XMF PrintCentre V5 is commercially available from now. Initial set up and training costs £10,000 with a monthly charge of £350 applying thereafter. Existing users of XMF PrintCentre will be automatically upgraded.
