ColorGate in colour control first

ColorGate is showing a new solution for brand colour management, and claims it can tackle non-standard production environments for the first time.

The German RIP and colour control specialist has teamed up with FreieFarbe, a non-profit coalition of German and Swiss colour experts, to develop Spectral Spot Module. This is described as a new way to communicate and manage spot colours “based on mathematical colour models and open standards”.

Colorgate stated: “It supports spot colour descriptions in CxF/X4 format according to ISO 179972-4. This improves the reproduction accuracy in both commercial and industrial printing applications, especially when using digital printing.”

The firm is exhibiting on stand B4-K26 at Fespa, which is being held at Messe Munich until Friday 17 May.
