AMS launches new products

High-power LED UV curing systems provider Air Motion Systems (Hall 14, B71) has launched a range of new products.

Highlights include MultiWave LED-UV, a blended wavelength series LED module that features what the company claims is the industry's first uniform blend of wide spectrum UV and LED wavelengths compatible with many existing UV photo-initiator ink and coatings, including low-migration formulas.

The company said this means ink prices for LED curing can now be brought into line with those of existing high-quality UV inks.

The MultiWave modules are said to give printers and converters wider spectrum compatibility with UV inks, varnishes and coatings combined with advantages of 100% LED-based curing including low energy consumption, elimination of mercury and ozone, removal of heat, improved curing consistency, safer operation and elimination of frequent bulb changes.

AMS chief executive Steve Metcalf said: “MultiWave allows perfect uniform blending of multiple wavelengths.

“It is capable of curing a much broader range of UV and LED inks, varnishes and coatings at the highest performance levels, without reliance on mercury-based arc lamps or proprietary, dual-purpose power supplies to assist.”

Among the company's other launches are the XD Series, a low-profile LED module for easy conversion of space-restricted machines including small-format presses to LED printing, and the X-Air Series, an extendable, high-power air-cooled LED UV architecture designed for machines and applications where air-cooling can into the space of the machine can be achieved.
