Airplac is reporting burgeoning demand for its made-to-measure foamboard due to the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting demand for new types of products in retail and leisure environments.

The Leigh-on-Sea factory is part of the Emball’Iso group, which headquartered in France. The UK manufacturing wing was set up inn 2004.

Airplac lays claim to being the only UK manufacturer of foamboard in bespoke sizes. The firm said that its just-in-time manufacturing approach resulted in less waste and a more economical solution for customers in the sign and display markets.

The virus situation has resulted in additional demand for foamboard products, for use in new product categories such as the frames for ‘sneeze screens’.

Airplac said that its Printfoam 100% polystyrene panels could be cleaned with “soapy sponges or most of the hydro-alcoholic sanitiser solutions on the market” making the substrate appealing for businesses wanting to adhere to new Covid-secure hygiene regulations.

Printfoam is also 100% recyclable in the plastic sorting schemes “used by all reputable supermarkets”, Airplac said.

Panels are available in all standard sizes from A4 to A0 as well as in bespoke dimensions. Thicknesses are 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm, 5mm and 10mm.

Airplac’s substrates are sold via Pyramid Display Materials, PPB, and Premier Display Graphics.
