Roland DG has updated its machine monitoring app, Roland DG Connect, to boost functionality and expand the portfolio of printers it can manage.

Version 1.1 of the free app, which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play, features new business and printer monitoring dashboards to enhance the “visualisation of printer operation status and profitability”.

“Customers tell us that being able to easily observe the operating status of their printers has led to the implementation of appropriate maintenance for stable product operation and the realisation of increased efficiency and profitability, said Johan Struyfs, Roland DG EMEA service director.

New features on the update include a new printer monitoring function that enables customers to check the operational status of multiple printers in real time.

The new business dashboard allows users to perform simple profit and cost calculations by entering the unit selling price of the output and the prices of ink and substrates.

According to the company, this will help users “foster increased profitability by setting appropriate sales prices and increasing cost awareness.”

The enhanced range of connectable machines now includes the VersaUV LEC2-330/640 UV-LED printer/cutters and the LEC2 S-series printers with flatbed/belt transfer system, meaning the full range of compatible print engines now includes all TrueVIS models as well as the aforementioned VersaUVs, provided they’ve been updated to the latest firmware.
