Roland DG has extended the capabilities of its VersaUV LEC2 Series of UV roll-to-roll printer/cutters and VersaUV LEC2 S-Series UV flatbed printers.

The manufacturer said the addition of new Greenguard Gold-certified orange and red EUV5 inks to the original set of CMYK, white, gloss, and printable primer further expands the potential of these devices, which were launched earlier this year.

The orange and red configuration is suitable for users who work with brands that demand “colour-accurate print perfection”, it added.

Roland DG director of business development and product management, EMEA Paul Willems said: “We’re delighted to add these two new vibrant colours to our EUV5 range, offering our customers an extended colour gamut.

“The inks will enable new VersaUV LEC2 customers to take on an even wider range of work and produce stunning high-quality applications.”

Also new is a larger version of the optional extension table designed specifically for the LEC2-640 printer/cutter. The ET-64 builds on the existing ET-30 extension table, which Roland DG said aids stability when feeding in more rigid substrates such as cardstock for packaging prototypes.

Suitable for folding carton applications up to B1 size, the ET-64 is priced at £849 and is available as an add-on to existing machines or as a purchase with an LEC2-640.

Roland DG told Printweek the new orange and red inks and extension table are available to order immediately, and first deliveries for the inks “will likely be September/October”.
