Renz bolsters portfolio with new launches

Renz has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of the Argos F400 cold UV coating machine and the Bindomatic Accel Cube and Accel Ultra thermal cover binding machines.

Manufactured by Belgian company Argos Solutions, the F400 is a highly flexible flat coating system that can be used in handfed, automatic and inline mode to digital print systems.

The device can run at up to 45m/min or 6,000sph (A3) and can handle a maximum paper width of 400mm. It features an optional feeder/stacker and optional coating pre-heating and infra-red lamps are also available if needed. Pricing for the machine starts at around £40,000, depending on specification.

Renz UK sales manager Dermot Callaghan said: “The Argos F400 doesn’t use the heat of a conventional coating machine so you don’t have to put on so much liquid, the cost per sheet is cheaper, you can handle the product the minute it comes out, and there’s no odour.”

The third-generation Accel Cube and Accel Ultra thermal cover binding machines, manufactured by Swedish firm Bindomatic, boast double the loading capacity of previous iterations and have cut the processing time in half.

The A4 portrait-bound orientation handles one to 360 sheets of 80gsm paper and document spine widths from 1.5mm to 36mm.

Renz UK managing director Iain Bullock said: “Bindomatic saw us as a good vehicle in the UK for these machines, which are super fast and knock all other loose-leaf binding styles into a cocked hat.

“The Bindomatic machines are both jogging from the sides and the top, all the way through the machine, so the paper is knocked into the glue strip in the cover. And the strength of the bind is second to none.”

The Accel Cube costs £7,500 while the Accel Ultra is priced at £12,500.

All of the new machines are commercially available with immediate effect and will receive separate UK show debuts later this year – the Bindomatic devices at The Print Show, running from 11 to 13 October at the Telford International Centre, and the Argos F400 at Ipex, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 31 October to 3 November. The Bindomatic kit will also be shown at Ipex.
