Chinese wide-format printer manufacturer Flora showed an entirely revamped portfolio at this year’s Fespa, demonstrating the capabilities of its printers, now upgraded with Epson S3200 printheads.

Making a European debut on the stand were the firm’s 2m-wide R20 roll-roll UV printer, the Xtra 2515S flatbed for boards up to 1.5m wide, and the X20UV Hybrid 2m-wide model, which can print either roll-to-roll or as a flatbed.

The adoption of the new printhead has resulted in higher quality output in all three printers.

Flora is also displaying its TX-2000EP 2m dye-sub printer, which was the first to be reconfigured with Epson head technology.

Tomasz Nowak, sales manager at Flora, said the company now feels comfortable competing with the major global manufacturers.

He said: “10 years ago we were comparing ourselves with other Chinese brands, but right now we are comparing easily with European brands like Durst or Agfa.

“‘Chinese’ means quality and speed at a reasonable price.”
