Agfa unveils new top-end hybrid at Fespa

Agfa Graphics is using an immersive booth concept at Fespa to introduce its latest flagship hybrid printer, the Jeti Tauro H3300 LED.

While the new 3.3m-wide LED-UV inkjet printer is not running on the company's booth, visitors are able to see an array of printed samples as well as experiencing the machine’s capabilities in a virtual environment.

Agfa Graphics global communications manager Kristof Van Cleemput said: “We are confident our machines can tackle all requests a customer may have, which is why we put a multitude of high-quality, real-life applications at the centre of attention.”

The H3300 is commercially available immediately and builds on the existing Jeti Tauro H2500 LED.

“It’s an upgrade on productivity because it’s a fully automated machine with an unloading and loading system. And as it’s a hybrid machine, you can do sheets, boards or flexible [media],” said Van Cleemput.

Three configurations are available: the six-colour, plus white and plus white and primer.

The manufacturer said the machine, which prints at resolutions up to 635x1,200dpi, can handle media up to 50mm thick and combines high image quality with low ink consumption.

It can print at speeds of up to 453sqm/hr and its speed is said to become “even more apparent” in the roll-to-roll version, which is capable of handling heavy master rolls in single or dual-roll mode for a wide variety of flexible media.

The machine also features a new vacuum table and Agfa-patented vacuum belt design to keep print media perfectly flat under the print shuttle, which the manufacturer said guarantees precise dot positioning and accurate media transport.

Agfa Graphics is exhibiting at booth 1.1-A57 at Messe Berlin until Friday (18 May).
