The Jeti Tauro H3300 UHS (ultra-high speed) LED model can print onto a wide range of rigid and flexible media in widths of up to 3.3m. It can be configured with four or six colours and has a maximum output speed of 600sqm/hour.
Agfa said it was targeted at “the high end of the sign and display market” and is designed to run 24/7 thanks to a range of automation features.
The Jeti Tauro H3300 can print in roll-to-roll format and has dual roll printing, while its extended vacuum zones are designed to handle corrugated board, “thus enabling sign and display printers to expand their offering and cover all deliverables for their customers’ marketing campaigns,” Agfa stated.
It is driven by Agfa’s Asanti workflow, which also optimises ink use.
Reinhilde Alaert, product manager for Sign & Display, described it as “the epitome of our ‘Extreme Productivity. Extreme Quality.’ motto.”
“When developing this new flagship, we went all out to make it fit for extreme workloads. On top of that, it is a versatile all-in-one machine that can print rigids and sheets as well as roll materials at the highest quality and the lowest ink consumption,” she stated.
Agfa inkjet sales manager for the UK and Ireland Bobby Grauf said the new model was based on the established Jeti Tauro platform, but with “beefed up” elements such as a reinforced beam and bigger ink tanks.
“The flexibility and concept of the machine is the same, and you can have white and primer, and it’s our fast white,” he explained.
Beta testing has been taking place at a number of customers in Europa and North America.
Grauf said he had already been in discussions with a number of potential UK customers.
“I would be surprised if we don’t have the first UK install this side of the summer break,” he added.
Pricing is expected to be from around £600,000, and depends on the configuration. Options include a camera for double-sided printing of block-out media.
The first Jeti Tauro, the H3300, was introduced three years ago. It was joined by the entry-level H3300 S in the autumn of last year.
Agfa is holding a ‘Meet the Beast’ online launch event on 9 March at 2pm UK time, which will also include presentations on market trends, colour management and workflow.
