The firm has used the know-how developed for its PDF2DTP plug-in for InDesign to create PDFMarkz, a new application for MacOS which replaces the older plug-in.

It allows users to preview native PDF documents and the document details.

Functions include extracting the text from PDF files, which can then be saved in TXT, HTML or RTF format. All or part of the PDF can be selected for sharing, and it can also export specific pages or the entire PDF in various image formats.

“PDFMarkz supports InDesign, Affinity Publisher and QuarkXpress. It does more as a standalone app and is so easy to use,” explained David Dilling, managing director at Markzware Europe.

“If people want to try a test version they can contact me.”

PDFMarkz also exports files back into Adobe InDesign Markup Language (IDML), and can convert PDF annotations to IDML.

It costs $199 for a 12-month subscription or $299 for a perpetual licence.

The package is available directly from Markzware online, or via its resellers.

PDFMarkz joins a suite of three ‘-Markz' file conversion products, and Markzware’s FlightCheck pre-flighting tool for commercial printing.
