Bilsen: "A lot of our customers would like to diversify"

The EJ-640 Deco, which is targeted at interior decor and graphics applications, is a 1.6m-wide water-based machine.

Offering durable and long-lasting prints with “excellent rub resistance”, the machine is said to be suitable for printers serving booth and store constructors, web-to-print suppliers for personalised wallpaper and commercial decorators in hotels, schools or office environments.

The machine includes ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 RIP and certifications include Oeko-Tex Eco Passport and Declaration of Performance 15102.

EMEA president Gregory Bilsen said: “A lot of our customers would like to diversify and go into different kinds of markets, and interior decoration is one of the markets that we see our customer base evolving into.

“The EJ-640 Deco is based on our existing proven technology, but we equipped it with a different kind of ink configuration and some additional drying and heating possibilities, which makes it a fantastic solution for indoor usage.

“The test phase has been done from a quality point of view so it’s now the finalisation before we can roll it out in EMEA.”

Meanwhile, the Texart S-Series XT-640S is a multi-station direct-to-garment printer that can produce 12 shirts in 15 minutes from one run.

“We see an increased need for textile solutions and we saw a need in the market for a more productive unit, but not huge quantities of production, so we’ve positioned ourselves exactly in the middle of the single t-shirt printer and higher production machines,” said Bilsen.

Also including the ErgoSoft Roland Edition 2 RIP, the machine can print full-colour graphics including photos, logos and text directly onto a wide range of cotton-based t-shirts and apparel. CMYK and high-density white ink enable printing on white or coloured garments.

Roland DG is exhibiting at stand A5-H10 at Fespa, which is taking place at Messe Munich, Germany and concludes today (17 May).
