Canon set to inspire at PrintWeekLive!

Canon has signed up to this year’s PrintWeekLive! and will use its 'Explore. Inspire. Improve.' banner to build on its presence at last year’s show.

Smith: there really should be something there for everyone

The firm is currently finalising the range of technology and solutions it will have on display at the March event, but Duncan Smith, director of industrial and production solutions at Canon UK said: “One thing is for sure, the stand will be very application focused and we’ll be showing visitors what is possible with Canon technology.”

Canon will use its 54sqm stand to highlight the possibilities of its continuous-feed, high-speed inkjet, cut-sheet production, and flatbed and roll-to-roll wide-format technologies.

“Obviously, we won’t have all that technology on our stand, but we will be showing the applications and what is possible to achieve. So there really should be something there for everyone from an applications perspective,” said Smith.

As well highlighting innovative applications, the firm’s stand will also play host to teams of Canon experts from a wide range of disciplines who will use the show as a platform to network with visitors and have meaningful conversations about how, in partnership, they can help take visitors' businesses forward.

“We want to help visitors explore their business, understand it, really get under the skin of it, and then find ways to inspire them with our knowledge and expertise to help them develop and transform their business by moving into a process of continuous improvement,” said Smith.

The firm will also be hosting a workshop session at PrintWeekLive! and while the content is still be finalised, Smith said that this would also tie in with the company’s 'Explore. Inspire. Improve.' mantra.

While printers will be the key focus of Canon at the show, Smith said he was confident that the application-centric stand will also be of great interest to the print buying community by demonstrating how the latest applications can drive results and increase engagement with print.

According to Smith, Canon’s decision to return for the second PrintWeekLive! had been a “no-brainer” after a successful, award-winning inaugural show last year.

“What we liked about the show, its USP, was that it was quite different from other shows. Obviously, companies like Canon are showing technology, but the fact that the show also offered thought leadership in the conference seminars and the workshops, which were very well attended, gave visitors the opportunity to learn something new and hear about how they might be able to improve their businesses.

“People are very busy, and they need something to draw them to events that offers added value, and I think the format of PrintWeekLive! is more likely to encourage people to give up some of their valuable time and come along.”
