Paper merchant Fedrigoni has launched a new design compendium, Fedrigoni 365, with contributions from numerous leading creatives.

Fedrigoni 365 was printed single-colour by an Italian printer

The compendium, developed with design agency TM Studio, showcases works from UK-based creatives, who were each asked to contribute a single piece of work, with the end product taking the form of a Fedrigoni annual calendar exhibiting 365 single-colour designs.

Printed at Italian-based printer Opero, the book is available now - with 500 copies for sale for £15 from counter-print.co.uk for charity and a further 2,000 available commercially - but it will be officially launched at an event at London’s Protein Gallery on 13 December. Using Sirio Ultra Black 115gsm for the text pages, the cover uses Sirio Color Nero E20 290gsm and also has 680gsm Sirio Ultra Black boards tipped onto the front and back.

Fedrigoni head of marketing and promotions Pari Blackbeard said the compendium had been the culmination of a lengthy period of hard work but that she was over the moon with the finished product.

“We wanted to reach out to designers and showcase the best of what has been done, or what could be done within the graphic design community,” she said.

“We felt like this hadn’t been done for quite a while and this was a great way to do it. I think it’s beautiful, absolutely stunning, we are really happy with the product. The way it’s been printed showcases every single image and some of the photography looks brilliant.”

The 400-page book, sized 165x220mm, has drawn together work from the likes of agencies Pentagram, Cartlidge Levine and Muir McNeil. Blackbeard did not reveal whether Fedrigoni would be producing a similar work next year but described the book as “one of the first of its kind”.

Fedrigoni works with a number of design agencies and print companies to develop creative products, including London-based Boss Print, which has used its papers for a number of recent projects, including its Noted Notebooks and a recent children's book
