Sign-writing, vehicle graphics and vehicle wrapping specialist Art D’Signs is celebrating 40 years in business this month and has attributed its longevity to its customer-focused service, expertise and approachability.
The Burgess Hill, Sussex-based business, which was established in June 1977, was acquired by PVL UK in 2013. PVL has 31 staff in total, four of which work at Art D’Signs.
“We’ve had some interesting jobs during that time - wrapping a Mini Cooper for the Millennium Time Vault, sign-writing the side of an aeroplane or hanging off the side of a car ferry to apply graphics to the bow,” said Harriott, who has been with Art D’Signs almost since its inception.
The firm, which uses HP Latex printers, has recently announced plans to introduce apprenticeships to the business to ensure that none of its sign production knowledge is lost.
The company also recently won Wrap of the Year 2016 at the British Sign Awards, for wrapping a Fiat 500 car for Gatwick Diamond Business. The wrap incorporated a 3D effect which was created by mounting PVC discs to the body and roof of the car and then wrapping over the top.
PVL UK and Art D’Signs marketing manager Therese Wynn-Davies said: “Most of Art D’Signs’ business is local and comes through referrals and word of mouth. We make sure that we don’t compromise on anything, we just do really good customer service and the guys are so approachable.
“Now I think it’s about maintaining and growing what has been done over the past 40 years. We want to continue to serve local people with the level of expertise that the Art D’Signs guys have and let people know that they are there, they are established and they know what they are doing.”
Art D’Signs will celebrate its milestone by holding a 40th birthday party later this month which will be attended by staff, key clients and Mayor of Burgess Hill Jacqui Landriani.
