Antalis and CMYUK have made a set of colour profiles for 10 sign & display stocks available to Vutek users, to help their customers achieve higher quality results without having to create their own profiles.
"Colour profiling is a time consuming and boring process, it could take half a day to profile one media and print setting, and as we have profiled both 600dpi and 1,000dpi print modes, it is effectively a day to profile each media," said CMYUK director Robin East. "Typically we charge £700 per day for the service, so getting profiles for all 10 media represents a saving of £7,000."
The move follows the work the two firms did to prepare for a series of open houses they held with Zund at the end of last year.
"Profiling materials is not generally done for the UV flatbeds, although it is routine for solvent and water-based technologies," said Antalis sign & display product manager Michael Crook. "The higher image quality you get by profiling definitely sells materials."
Antalis media covered include both rigids and flexibles from its own Coala range and third parties including chalk-based synthetic Antacote Lite Coala frontlit banner, Coala 1d self-adhesive vinyl, Coala backlit textile, Dibond Digital Forex Print, Kapa Brite, Kapa Tex, Nu Stone and Smart X.
Profiles are already available for Vutek’s QS2 and QS3 Pro machines, and will come pre-installed on any new models. CMYUK is also working on profiles for the Vutek QS2000, QS3000, GS2000 and GS3250 models, and in time plans to profile all suitable Antalis sign & display materials.
