Esko makes double appointment to attack new markets

Prepress software and packaging equipment and manufacturer Esko has created a new role of senior vice president of sales as it targets emerging markets.

Christian Korte has joined the company in the role and will be focussing on extending Esko’s reach into new business areas for existing clients.

He will take responsibility for sales and marketing to reduce time to market regardless of customer’s locations.

Esko chief executive Carsten Knudsen said: "Esko customers are under increasing pressure to develop their brands and the marketing messages carried by packaging at an ever accelerating pace.

"Esko is uniquely positioned to address these needs. The market is evolving quickly, which presents us with numerous opportunities."

Korte added: "I look forward to helping those in the print and packaging production supply chain realise the full potential of Esko's comprehensive portfolio of solutions.

"The enhanced productivity, cost reduction and flexibility they provide are essential for customers of all size looking to make efficiency improvements. They are also vital in long-term relationship building with brand owners and key customers - particularly in emerging markets where new challenges call for quick and effective action."

At the same time, Marian Zincke has replaced Nicolai Gradman as vice president of digital finishing.

Zincke’s experience in expanding into emerging markets such as China and India as managing director of Negele Messtechnik, quality control systems manufacturer for the food and pharamaceutical sectors, is expected to complement Korte’s objective in extending sales into new sectors.

Knudsen said: "We hope to leverage Zinck’s experience building sales in emerging markets to provide our expanding customer base with the time and cost savings benefits that come from using Esko’s evolving range of solutions."
