Color-Logic has certified Mirri substrates for use with Color-Logic's process metallic colour system.
The move opens up the firm’s raft of metallic effects to digital printing technologies that cannot use metallic inks but can utilise a white ink to produce a mask to cover areas that are not required to be metallic.
Trials have been successfully conducted using an Agfa UV-cured wide-format printer and an HP Indigo 5500 small-format cutsheet machine.
"With Mirri substrates Color-Logic provides optimal results over a broad range of printing conditions and with a great many imaging devices," said Color-Logic chief technology officer Richard Ainge.
"Color-Logic is an effective tool for preparing artwork and placing whites," said Mirri marketing manager Jennifer Deacon. "Mirri has tested Color-Logic on a number of magazine covers and large-format posters and I can safely say I have never seen printed metallics look as good."
