PrintWeek's pick of the new wide-format products on show at Fespa

 

Adelco Stand F14N
Adelco will show its new eight colour, 20-station Ellipse Oval screen print machine for the first time in Europe, demonstrating it with a Kornit Paradigm digital and screen combination station. This modular machine is available as up to 52-station machines and in three print sizes: 500x700mm, 600x800mm and 700x1,000mm. Adelco will also show its new Ecotex Conveyor dryer range, available gas-fired or electric and with new touchscreen control.


Agfa Stand C30S
Agfa will introduce a new addition to its Anapurna family, the Anapurna M3200 RTR, a mid-range 3.2m, UV-curable roll-to-roll printer. Also new for Fespa will be the Anapurna M2500, offering the same versatility as the Anapurna 2050, with six colours and high-density white in a 2.5m platform. The Agfa Graphics Jeti series is being represented by the new Jeti Titan X flatbed printer, designed for use with a broad range of rigid and flexible substrates. Also on show will be the new Asanti StoreFront and Asanti Production, automated workflow solutions for wide-format web-to-print, colour management and automatic pre-flighting.


ATMA Stand C25N
ATMA specialises in manufacturing screen printers for various sectors, such as graphical printing, industrial decorative printing, glass printing, printed circuits, opto-electronic, biotech and green energy solar cell. At Fespa, the company will showcase its digital control high precision screen printer with CCD surveillance system for high accuracy registration and repeatability printing, as well as the latest generation of the digitalised four-post screen printer with gripper take-off and versatile two-post type screen printer.


Brother Stand F2N
Brother will show its new GT-3 Series, a single-platen white-ink direct-to-garment printer. The company will be showcasing, it says, how the new GT-3 Series’ industrial printheads help deliver high productivity, durability and reliability.


Canon Stand H5S
Canon says it will be hoping to demonstrate, at Fespa, the benefits of its Océ acquisition in enabling the vendor to offer a wide breadth of technologies. Exhibits will include roll-fed inkjet printers and UV flatbed devices through to software solutions and digital cutting tables and the full range of Océ substrates.


Direct Color Systems Stand N30N
A newly introduced high-speed, small-format UV LED inkjet printer that uses inline printing and produces 3D textured prints will be the focus of the Direct Color Systems stand. The vendor will be highlighting how the Direct Jet 1024UVHS with Textur3D On Board, when paired with DCS’s advanced Color Byte RIP 9 software, can offer any combination of two or three of RIP 9’s groups of white, colour and clear print head channels which can print simultaneously, inline in a single pass.


DST Stand H12N
At Fespa, DST will offer a full starter package for new printers, including an OKI printer, paper, inks and adhesives. It will showcase its patented solution for producing textile transfers by combining digital printing with screen printing, showing how, by using specially developed water-based and plastisol-based inks, it is possible to produce transfers that have all the characteristics of traditional transfers, such as stretch, durability and wash resistance.


Durst Stand N5N
At Fespa, Durst will present its latest range of large-format inkjet printers with the onstand focus of applying inkjet technology to new markets, such as ceramics, glass, textiles and wood printing. The stand will feature live demos of its UV flatbed machines, ideally suited for integration into an industrial production line, and its UV roll-to-roll printer.


DYSS Stand N15S
DYSS will be launching a new GM3042 compact flatbed UV printer at Fespa, along with highlighting the versatile printhead configuration, and user-friendly feature benefits of its Apollo UV and X7 and X5 series.


Eagle Service Stand N70S
The UK distributor for the Skyjet range of large-format UV and solvent-based digital printers from China – which include flatbeds, roll-to-roll and hybrid presses – Eagle Service will be showcasing Skyjet’s latest updated UV Flatmaster flatbed Model 3020. The supplier will be highlighting the model’s 3D printing, three-layer and double-layer printing capabilities and also showcasing the new Skyjet Model Oldmaster FTR5200 and FTR3300 UV roll-to-roll printers available in 5m and 3.2m widths.


EFI Stand B5S
Among the products showcased at the EFI stand will be the Vutek HS100 Pro, offering wide-format print companies greyscale output and remote diagnostics plus innovative Pin & Cure droplet technology. Also on show will be EFI’s SmartSign Analytics (SSA) which analyses the effectiveness of a campaign by monitoring and analysing response by detecting who is looking at a particular display, and the length of time it’s being viewed for.


Epson Stand G40S
Epson will be showcasing new products based on the latest generation of its micro-piezo inkjet printhead technology at Fespa 2013. Demonstrations of products designed for both the signage and textile printing markets will take place on the stand, with the emphasis on Epson’s new SureColor SC-F6000 and SureColor SC-F7000 dye-sublimation printers, the SurePress FP-30160 fabric printer, and the SureColor SC-S50600 and SureColor SC-S70600 signage printers.


ESC Stand C25N
At Fespa, ESC will be presenting the new automatic stop cylinder screen printing machine ESC-Impress, launched in 2012 and designed for industrial printing applications with challenging technical requirements. Along with partner ATMA, ESC will be giving details of the new G6 version of the Atmace flatbed series. Also on show will be the ESC-Perfecta IC Inline system for screen washing and reclaiming and ESC-KP/KE pad printing machines.


Fujifilm Stand F10S
Fujifilm will be showcasing the new corrugated handling system for its Inca Onset flatbed printers, alongside its LED UV hybrid printer Acuity LED 1600, suitable for roll and light rigid materials. For those interested in POS and signage, there’ll be the mid-range Acuity Advance Select, with white and clear inks. While those interested in superwide graphics can become acquainted with the Uvistar Pro8, which can also handle rigid media for production of POS display images. Fujifilm said it will also be keen to discuss new uses of its inkjet technology for industrial and package applications.


HP Stand H80S
The jewel in the crown of the HP stand will be its new Latex 3000 printer. The HP team will be demonstrating how new curing and ink technologies allow printers to now benefit from latex quality at industrial production speeds. The vendor will also be highlighting HP Scitex flatbed presses’ suitability for retail POS displays, rigid signage and corrugated packaging for the industrial environment, and how, in addition to traditional sign, display, vehicle and building wrap applications, HP latex technologies enable printers to offer new applications such as interior décor services. Also showcased will be wallpaper printing, using the new HP WallArt solution.


InkTec Stand N35S
InkTec will showcase its second-generation Jetrix flatbed UV printers for indoor, outdoor and industrial applications. On show will be the 1.2m-wide Jetrix K804series and 3m Jetrix K810series, both with roll-to-roll options.


Kaye Dee Stand P14N
Kaye-Dee will introduce a new range of digital printing solutions at Fespa 2013. Developed by Bergstein with industrial applications in mind, the BE300 LED series offers a compact, 420x300mm print area, product loading height of up to 300mm, ionisation for reduced static and extra sensors for improved operation. Meanwhile the one-, two-, three- and four-colour options and white undercoat option of the new BE-TS/HS-1 high-speed printers will also be showcased.


KIP Stand N20S
KIP will present the KIP C7800 wide-format colour production print system, designed for a range of technical and graphic applications. The KIP C7800 delivers 600x2,400dpi resolution at print speeds of up to 390sqm/hr in black and white and 325m2/hr in colour, says the vendor. The C7800 has three media decks and an automated sheet feeder to boost productivity.


M&R Stand J30N/J40N
Screen printing equipment vendor M&R will present the Challenger III D teamed with Passport auto unloader and the Alpha 8 oval printing press. The vendor will also be highlighting the benefits of its other automatic presses, including the Diamondback XL, Diamondback L, and Sportsman EX. Also on display will be the Sidewinder manual press, Sprint 2000 gas dryer, Economax D and Fusion electric infrared dryers, and M&R’s new i-Image ST computer-to-screen imaging system.


Merlin Transfers Stand G48N
Merlin Transfers will be promoting its low-cost mug presses, which print standard mugs, bone china and latte mugs and money boxes. Also on show will be the Silhouette A3 textile, film and paper cutter, Merlin Flex garment film, which the vendor says offers easy ‘weeding’ and positioning, to give a durable image, and laser and inkjet transfer papers for light and dark garments, including single-step self-weeding paper.


Mimaki Stand J5S
Mimaki will exhibit its latest flatbed UV LED printer, the JFX500-2131, which delivers production speeds of up to 60sqm/hr on a 2.1x3.1m print area. Visitors can also expect to see the new UJV500, a large-format roll-fed UV LED printer that offers similar speeds and quality as the JFX500-2131. Visitors will also see the JV400LX series, which uses ecologically-friendly latex inks and is the first latex printer to feature white ink. For the textile and apparel markets, Mimaki will feature the TS500-1800, which, at a speed of 150sqm/hr, is the world’s fastest printer for sublimation paper.


Mutoh Stand M20S
At Fespa this year, Mutoh will be displaying its full portfolio, including the latest ValueJet family additions, covering sign and display, indoor and digital transfer as well as direct-to-fabric applications. Particularly worth a look, says Mutoh, will be the New ValueJet 2638, the first 2.6m-wide ValueJet sign and display unit, the new 1.6m-wide (64in) ValueJet 1638 line, including the ValueJet 1638 high-speed eco-printer for sign and display work, and the ValueJet 1638W printer for high-speed dye-sublimation applications.


Optimum Digital Planet Stand E32S
Optimum Digital Planet will showcase its new Victor UV digital flatbed printer which uses Konica Minolta heads, has a 40sqm/hr production speed, and has a white ink option.


Roland DG Stand P30S
Roland DG will be showcasing its recently announced 1.6m (64in) SolJet Pro4 XF-640 dubbed, due to being the company’s fastest wide-format printer to date, as ‘the beast’. The company will be showcasing the printer’s maximum print speed of 102sqm/hr, and its suitability for signs, banners, vehicle wraps, window graphics, POS displays, exhibition show graphics and posters. Also on show will be the SolJet Pro4 XR-640, a 1.6m (64in) printer-cutter available in both seven- and eight-colour configurations, and Roland’s eco-solvent inks, Eco-Sol Max 2.


 

Screen Stand P30N
Screen will launch a new Truepress Jet wide-format printer at Fespa, with further details to be revealed at the show. The new printer will be showcased alongside the Truepress Jet2500 hybrid printer and Truepress JetW1632UV flatbed UV printer. The vendor will be showing the latter’s 94sqm/hr speed, the benefits of its latest super-fine droplet printheads to deliver razor-sharp 1,200dpi text, and the printer’s photographic quality. Also on show will be Screen’s PDF Polisher software, which automatically applies different levels of contrast, sharpness and colour correction according to whether the image features faces or jewellery, for example.


Seiko Instruments Stand G60S
As a world premiere, Seiko will show its new signage printer. It will also show its unique solvent based fluorescent Neon Ink for the W series and high-productivity printer ColorPainter H2P with high-capacity ink system to shorten set-up times.


Spandex Stand B48S
Equipment and consumables supplier Spandex will be giving plenty of live demos this year. On stand will be the Epson SureColor 70600, Epson SureColor T7000 and the Roland DG Soljet Pro XF-640 – also known as ‘the beast’ – Roland’s fastest printer. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see an iconic Vespa motorbike wrapped throughout the event using a range of products from 3M, and will have the chance of winning the motorcycle, wrapped in their choice of 3M Scotchprint Car Wrap Film Series 1080.


SPS TechnoScreen Stand D15N
SPS TechnoScreen will exhibit the most recent version of the SPS Vitessa SL, the Stop cylinder press with vertical top-frame lift, aimed at high-end industrial applications, such as automotive/FIM, membrane switch, and security printing. The small-format SPS Vitessa XP with "drop-down and swivel-up" features for set-up, will also be on display.


 

SSE Stand P44N
SSE Worldwide will launch a range of small-format UV flatbed inkjet printers and a digital label printing and finishing system. The Eagle small-format UV inkjet, prints CMYK and white as standard on to substrates as deep as 250mm. Meanwhile the iTech Axxis HS digital label toner printer enables short-run label printing and digital finishing without tools for what the company describes as a "competitive" price.


SwissQprint Stand E35S
Visitors of the SwissQprint stand will learn about the vendor’s Oryx, Impala and Nyala models, flatbed printers with add-on features such as a roll-to-roll option for printing on flexible materials, and a board option for printing on oversized formats. One of the two systems on show will be entirely dedicated to the roll-to-roll option to demonstrate the range’s versatility.


TheMagicTouch Stand F66N
The new TMT/OKI LED desktop garment and product decoration digital printers, with full-colour capability together with a ‘white toner’ option, will be on show. TheMagicTouch will also show its professional heat presses and plotters together with a range of MagiCut products including flex, flock, glitters and the reflectra range for garment decoration.
