PrintWeek's pick of the new wide-format products on show at Fespa

 

Bickers Stand Q60S
Bickers will exhibit its Gluejet machine, which works like a plotter, but instead of cutting, applies hotmelt and PVA in geometric patterns. The hotmelt is pressure-sensitive enabling large and complicated areas to be glued while remaining ‘open’, says the vendor, who adds that this is ideal for replacing hand-held guns to make the process quicker, safer and more effective.


Blackman & White Stand A30S
This year’s Fespa is the platform for the launch of Blackman & White’s Mastercut Versa-Tech cutting table, the result, says the vendor, of two years of research and development and consultation with print and graphics professionals.


Drucktech Stand G80N
Drucktech will showcase its membrane heat-presses, the USPs of each, it claims are compressed air, to ensure high pressure for transferring, and no need for using inlays, speeding up the transfer process.


Elitron Stand G10S
Elitron will be showing the Kombo SD, a cutting table with intelligent ‘Seeker System’ to enable fully automatic image recognition, reference point location, automatic loading of cutting files and automatic cutting. It also comes with a selection of different tools to cut, mill, crease, route, plot and perforate.


Esko Stand F35S
At Fespa 2013, Esko will showcase its portfolio of pre-production and digital finishing solutions. This will include Esko’s Kongsberg XP24 digital cutting table, and software solutions to automate the entire design-to-print-to-cut pre-production process, including 3D design, preflight, optimising sheet layout, workflow automation, proofing and colour management.


Graphtec Stand Q67S
Four ranges of plotter-cutters and a range of scanners will be demonstrated by Graphtec GB on Stand Q67S. They comprise of the flagship FC8000 and the new affordable CE6000 series of large-format machines, the Cameo and recently launched Portrait additions to the family of Silhouette desktop cutters and the new CSX530 high-performance scanners. The CE6000 series builds on its predecessors by offering a wider and longer-length cutting area, an increased cutting speed of up to 900mm/sec and a maximum cutting force of 500g.


Industrial Tooling Corporation Stand A3S
ITC will be showing off an extension of the 180 Series of cutters and the 4071 Series of cutters for foamex, plastic, wood and MDF. Other new developments on show include the new 2041 Series with "innovative geometry with enhanced wiper flats and polished flutes to improve swarf clearance".


Insta Stand H54N
Insta will showcase its custom heat transfers and heat press units at this year’s Fespa. Insta’s heat seal offerings serve as a method of product identification and provide customers with a means of branding their textile-based products through the application of tagless labels, logos, decorative front and back graphics and oversized prints.


Lasercomb Stand A50S
German manufacturer Lasercomb will use Fespa to demonstrate two versions of the ProDigi Neo cutting table at the Excel. Targeted at the sign, point-of-sale and packaging markets, the Neo is the latest addition to Lasercomb’s portfolio and is available in six formats from 800x1,300mm to 3,100x2,500mm. The 100m/min rated range, which is supplied in the UK by Friedheim International, features a new pc-based front end and touchscreen GUI, zoned suction bed and can be configured as a cutter/creaser and 3D milling unit.


Lotus Stand H45N
Lotus will be showing a wide range of heat presses, including manual, semi-automatic and pneumatic presses with printing areas of 120x130mm up to 1,600x800mm. The company will also be presenting a wide range of transfer materials for CAD cut solutions and digital printing.


Meevo Stand F22N
After two years of development and testing, Meevo’s new finishing machine for the textile printing industry will be officially launched at Fespa 2013 with daily demonstrations held throughout the event. The company will also showcase its range of textile media for sublimation, UV-cured and latex inks.


ModulMounter Stand K17S
ModulMounter will show its modular built flatbed laminator. The ModulMounter can be offered in three widths and any length in 1m steps, laminates full table length, and is constructed without a bridge over the roller to ensure ease of handling.


RollsRoller Stand P20S
RollsRoller will show three different models of its eponymous product and accessories, demonstrating how one person can quickly and easily apply self-adhesive film in just a few seconds with these applicators.


Stahls Stand H10N
Stahls will show its Hotronix AirFusion heat press with touchscreen, auto-adjust pressure, threadability, and adjustable stand. This press will be on show throughout the exhibition along with other presses in the range.


Summa Stand A67S
Summa will exhibit a wide range of its vinyl and contour cutters, as well as its flatbed for high-volume and digital printers. The focus perhaps will be the S Class 2 (S2) cutter, with its improved media flanges and upgrade potential for extra pinch rollers.


Topcut-Bullmer Stand E42S
Topcut-Bullmer will present its single-ply cutter PremiumCut, designed to cut nearly every material in the graphic industry, including foils, packaging, stickers and displays. The modular cutter is constructed in a modular way with a wide variety of tools, says the vendor.


Valiani Stand Q116S
Valiani will showcase its CMC-iXV a versatile flatbed plotter designed for boxes and displays, contour cutting and signage, embossing, and stickers and gaskets. It is designed for use on a wide range of packaging and display materials, matt board, corrugated board, and rigid material such as vinyl, Forex, PVC, polycarbonate, corrugated plastic, foam board and gator board, and is equipped with a camera for crop mark detection.


Vivid Laminating Technologies Stand F42S
Fespa will be the first exhibition in the UK where Vivid will be showcasing its latest innovation, the Matrix MF-530 Auto-Feeder unit for the MX-530 laminating system. The stand will also feature the Easymount wide-format laminators and the Trimfast A-Frame multi-substrate
cutter.


Zünd Stand C20S
Zünd will be showing its Board Handling System (BHS), designed for fully automated and unattended production. The company will be highlighting how with tandem vacuum, the active working area
of the cutter can be divided into front and back processing areas. Following the launch of the G3 and S3 series of digital cutters, Zünd will also be introducing the Zünd Cut Center 2.0 software suite with new production time estimation fractures.
