WasteCare claims recruitment drive will benefit printers

WasteCare Group has said that the print industry will be able to benefit from a recent jump its company's numbers.

The waste specialist has recently added 40 new jobs across WasteCare itself and its sister organisation PackCare.

According to chief executive Peter Hunt, the company's increasing number of staff will work out well for its customers.

He said: "The more collections we are able to do per square mile, the more cost effective it is for us to pick up waste. We are increasing the density of our collections all the time."

The increase in staffing brings WasteCare's workforce up to 300 – an increase of 18% on last year. The company's collection fleet has also grown and is up 10% to 110 vehicles.

WasteCare, which is targeting a £25m turnover in 2008, collects a wide array of waste materials, including printing solvents and hazardous waste.

The company has recently added a carbon calculator to its website to allow customers to work out their effect on the environment.
