Warners Midlands turns to Technotrans for ink pumping on incoming press

Warners Midlands is to add a barrel ink pumping system from Technotrans to the 10-colour press it is installing next month.

The system will free up time for the press minders, and the company's ink supplier Stehlin Hostag operates a recycling system ensuring that barrels are either refilled or recycled once empty. It means the company can make savings by buying ink in bulk and is more environmentally friendly.

"With a 10-unit sheetfed press coming in we looked carefully at other long perfector users and realised that most companies seemed to be using barrel ink pumping," said senior production manager Martin Harris. "To have manual inking would be cumbersome and this investment will free up our operators to focus on other running and makeready issues".
