Now in its fifth edition, the annual Award is free enter and is open to people under 31 years old working in print and packaging as well as allied trades including journalism, publishing, photography; and equipment, ink and paper manufacturing.
The Award is in memory of Victor Watson CBE, the former Waddington's chairman who passed away in 2015 and is credited with internationalising the game ‘Monopoly’.
“Even when he was in his eighties he still had that twinkle in his eye and a fascination to encourage young people to do something exceptional,” said Robert McClements, who is president of BPIF special interest group CDI and oversees the Award.
“And this year seems a good opportunity to recognise and reward youngsters that are doing something outstanding, perhaps more than ever before.”
The award is supported by the BPIF, The Printing Charity and The Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards. The £1,500 bursary is donated by The Printing Charity and all nominees receive a certificate.
