Tech-ni-Fold targets digital market with Advance

Tech-ni-Fold will take visitors on a trip down memory lane – and into the future – at PrintWeekLive! next month, where founder Graham Harris will also be signing copies of his new book in aid of charity.
Harris said the Leicester-based manufacturer of innovative print finishing devices will display "a little bit of history" on its booth, as well as its most recent development which it is targeting at users of digital presses.
"We will be showing the very first Tri-Creaser, which looks a bit strange now, and the evolution of the product up to today," he said. "Hopefully it will be a talking point. Our customers talk to us and we listen, that's how we evolve."
The firm's latest innovation, the Tri-Creaser Advance, aims to tackle cracking and flaking on the inside of folds, which Harris said can be a particular issue with toner-based output on certain types of stock.
"It is gaining a lot of interest from the digital print sector, and that includes some of the big vendors. We are making real headway into the digital market and I also think a lot of our Tri-Creaser users will want to upgrade, because although they are very happy with their Tri-Creasers the Advance is a different level," Harris explained. "We are really looking forward to this show."
There will be a special show discount deal on the Tri-Creaser Advance, which has a list price of just under £1,200, at PrintWeekLive!. "It's going to be the best offer we've ever had," he added.
In addition, a CreaseStream device from sister company CreaseStream with tools for cutting and micro-perforating will be demonstrated.
Harris will also be on hand to sign copies of his recently-published book, Against the Grain, the inspiring story of his journey from print finisher to inventor and business entrepreneur. The book will be on sale for £5, with the proceeds going to Rainbows Hospice for children and young people in Loughborough, a charity that is local to Tech-ni-Fold.
"Quite a few customers have bought the book already and I've had good feedback from them," Harris said. "One bookshop ordered 100 copies and sold out within six days! Hopefully the book will motivate and inspire people, and not just in print, anyone who's interested in inventing and creating products."
Tech-ni-Fold is on stand A16 at PrintWeekLive!, which takes place from 7-8 March at the Wasps Arena, Coventry.
